The Principal Auditor will be the lead Information Technology (IT) auditor for the UCI Internal Audit Program, providing technical services and advice to the audit program while carrying out the essential elements of the IT Program as described in the University of California Audit Manual. The position will conduct and or lead complex IT audits and will serve as a resource to the general auditors in the conduct of integrated audit projects based on the annual audit plan, special management requests, and cyber-safety audit program reviews of University of California, Irvine (General Campus and Health System) academic, research, clinical, and operational units. This includes, but is not limited to data centers, operating systems, telecommunications, networks, disaster recovery, information technology standards and security.The position will serve as a resource on IT matters for general auditors conducting integrated audits throughout UCI and will deliver or advise on the IT training needs of the UCI Internal Audit Program in order to ensure general auditors have the technical skills necessary to carry out their responsibilities employing an integrated audit concept. The position will promote the effective use of technology within the UCI Internal Audit Program both in terms of the use of technology in performing audits (e.g. CAAT's) and in regard to internal business processes (e.g. TeamMate). The position will also cultivate relationships with key IT customers (e.g. CIO's) that foster opportunities and serve as a resource for the delivery of IT advisory servicesThe position will serve as the primary point of communication with UC system-wide IT auditors. In the event that UCI chooses to retain subject matter experts or consultants for the performance of certain highly complex IT audits, the position will serve as the day-to-day liaison with the SME's/consultants and will ensure that there is a degree of 'skills transfer' designed into the co-sourcing arrangement.The incumbent must agree to comply with the Institute of Internal Audit Code of Ethics and annually complete a Statement of Economic Interest that is required by University policy.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
