Reporting to the Deputy CIO (IT Development, Mobility and Smart Cities) and as part of the UTO, this Salesforce Technical Director position will contribute to the effective development, deployment and management of marketing technology tools, apps, and sites that build our prospective student and student influencer pipeline lead funnel and the supporting integrations and CRM platforms to appropriately utilize collected data to convert student recruitment and enroll students into our ASU Online environment. This individual will need to know how to look across a technology stack to create a comprehensive solution as well as interface to the appropriate functional stakeholders to instill confidence in the built solution as well as to assure achieved goals are met. Under administrative direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, coordinating, and controlling the staff, resources and activities related to information technology for the department or college.
Depends on experience
Directs staff recruitment, development and evaluation.
Oversees acquisition and operation of technology resources (servers, networks, software, data services).
Works with faculty/administration to define, adapt, develop and implement instructional technology software products for use in classrooms.
Participates in formulation of annual budget and controls ongoing operating budget. Directly interfaces with faculty and/or administrators regarding ongoing operations, applications and existing resources.
Manages projects related to applications (educational and administrative).
Conducts direct liaison with university IT staff regarding ongoing operation, application and existing resources.
Participates in formulation of college or department of technology plans and policies. Administers the implementation of projects, and the application of policies.
Use knowledge of current and future trends in computing technologies.
Use knowledge of current operating systems and computer architecture.

Bachelor's degree in a related field AND eight (8) years of related experience as a computing professional, which includes five (5) years of management/supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Experience with Force.com platform technical limitations and common technical design patterns.
Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM, ERP, etc.
In-depth understanding of the capabilities and constraints of the SFDC CRM application.
Experience defining business solutions leveraging SFDC.
In-depth Visual Force and Apex knowledge.
Experience in designing and optimizing business processes and integrating business processes across disparate systems.
Experience with Enterprise Integration tools.
Experience in balancing and prioritizing multiple projects concurrently.
Evidence of a client-focused attitude and being a customer advocate.
Experience in providing leadership in the conversion of existing and new applications.
Experience in overseeing system design, development, and system maintenance of Salesforce, including integration with third parties.

Experience in managing and/or conducting technical design, testing, implementation, control and maintenance of applications.
Experience in communicating with technical peers, such as database designers, Business Systems Analysts, business/user group contacts as well as senior executive team members in both setting and executing on the rollout of cloud-based applications.
Experience in being the key contact with vendors and suppliers.
Experience in partnering with the Architectural team to ensure architecture guidelines have been followed in the design and specifications of the assigned projects/systems and that there is appropriate adherence to the systems development lifecycle.
Experience in managing staff to ensure alignment of departmental activities with organizational goals.
Experience in coordinating resources and activities to achieve maximum expense control and productivity.
Experience in identifying and resolving issues.
Experience in establishing, implementing, and reviewing department policies and procedures.
Experience in providing recommendations on pay, performance management, employment, and staffing decisions.
Experience in managing consultants and vendors to ensure adherence to plans and contractual commitments.
Experience in preparing appropriate documentation to ensure clear project definition and execution.
Experience in partnering with the Project Management Office to ensure timely and accurate time and expense reporting as well as schedule adherence
Evidence of being Salesforce.com Certified (Architect or Developer).
Evidence of Sales Cloud or Service Cloud certifications are a plus.
