Seeking a Director of Palliative Care to join our growing and vibrant practice with strong support from health system partners and the communities we serve:
Oversee inpatient and outpatient palliative services to offer sustainable, best practices in palliative care, partnering with local health systems, including inpatient care, embedded oncology and cardiology clinics, and free-standing palliative care clinics.
Develop and refine systems and processes to hire, orient, and support staff.
Participate and advance in the medical leadership of an organization whose primary mission is hospice and palliative care.
Comprehensive responsibilities will be further refined with the CMO based on interest and experience and will include:
Oversight of inpatient and outpatient palliative care delivery
Collaboration with health care partners to define, measure, track, and respond to quality metrics
Participation in contract design and maintenance with partner health care systems
Submission of data to the CAPC National Palliative Care Registry
Hiring and orienting of new staff; designation and supervision of team coordinators (TCs) for inpatient palliative care teams; oversight of performance of staff evaluations and feedback by TCs
Clinical time to nourish passion and maintain familiarity with clinical environments, processes, and staff
Participation in medical leadership to provide overall departmental direction
Regular collaboration with the CMO for optimal communication and collaboration regarding palliative care practices, organizational processes, and staff support
Annual attendance at CAPC National Seminar with Quality, IT, and/or Finance staff.

Doctor of medicine or osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or through demonstrated interest, knowledge, and skills with certification by the Hospice Medical Directors Certification Board.
Proven ability to motivate, lead, and provide specialized medical direction in a team setting and in collaboration with other providers and administrators.
3 or more years experience in palliative care practice.
Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
License to practice medicine in Pennsylvania (may obtain during hiring process).
Salary negotiable based on clinical, supervisory, and administrative experience.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
