This position is responsible for creating and executing action plans to manage New Product Introduction (NPI) supplier performance.
Select suppliers, including global opportunities. Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ). Analyze and summarize quotations using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach. Facilitate negotiation of supply agreements. Track New Product purchased part cost and provide information to NPI team and Sourcing Managers. Develop cost reduction and productivity strategies directly aligned with New Product cost targets. Manage NPI purchased part lead time.
Provide continual support to NPI Teams, NPI Sourcing Managers & Suppliers. Prepare/handle Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA's) for NPI projects. Monitor SAP NPI part setup and resolve issues. Perform NPI BOM scrubs and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Drive NPI part and supplier risk mitigation. Drive NPI Supply Chain Readiness and generate data related to supply chain health as needed. Participate in NPI related internal meetings, including making presentations to senior management. Use SAP and other enterprise systems and programs to collect and analyze data. Analyze data to determine root causes for poor performance. Create and execute actions plans to improve supplier performance. Lead or assist in the development of processes and procedures related to the role.
Responsible for New Product purchasing assignments requiring application of advanced purchasing principles, theories and concepts.
Complete Total Cost of Ownership analyses to drive selection of optimal supplier location and lot sizes.
Drive Supply Chain Material Readiness and support optimal time to market by facilitating meetings and tracking materials. Work with production buyers to execute timely new parts set up.
Ensure thorough familiarity with Rockwell Automation's Common Product Development (CPD) process.
Analyze data (perform root cause analysis and problem solving). Create and execute action plans.
Participate in cross-functional NPI team activities.
Support and maintain ERP accuracy and resolve issues, on-time delivery and lead time accuracy.
Identify alternate sources of supply.
Assist in early communication of material planning forecasts to suppliers of critical components throughout NPI development cycle.
Manage escalated critical material shortages for the New Product teams.
Represent Rockwell Automation when interfacing with other companies.
Develop specific objectives in support of NPI Sourcing's departmental objectives.
Support of overall productivity improvement efforts and management reporting.
Comply with all Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to NPI Sourcing and standards of business conduct.
Identify and drive activities to improve in-bound supply chain management practices.
May review new product introduction management and engineer change notices (ECN).
May participate in and support the coordinated purchase agreement programs with the Rockwell Strategic Sourcing organization.
May manage and update data in MRP system including but not limited to price, lead time, and lot sizes
Process purchase requisitions generated by NPI teams, verify accuracy to quote, and resolve invoice issues.
