Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Contract Analyst (CA) for the Department of University Procurement. This position reports to the Contract Manager, and in collaboration with the Category staff, the Contract Analyst is responsible for independently managing procurement contracts for products and services in alignment with Rutgers University business requirements and objectives and best practices in procurement and strategic sourcing. The Contract Analyst ensures that appropriate policy, procedure, legal risk management, and insurance issues have been properly addressed for all contracts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Handles the more complex supplier negotiations and ensures that Rutgers is securing the best value in its contracts.
Assists the Category staff with identifying opportunities for new contracts and participates in supplier meetings.
Acts as the central point of contact for suppliers and departments for the contract areas that the position manages.
Works with the Category Team to review contracts for the University's acquisition of products and services.
Prepares, reviews, and negotiates the more complex contracts, including university-wide and department contracts for multiple categories and types of purchases.
Maintains and develops contract specifications.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
A minimum of five (5) years of contracting and sourcing experience.
