The Computer and Information Technology Department has an immediate opening for an Information Security Officer (ISO). This position is responsible for the institution’s total information security needs and the development and delivery of a comprehensive information security strategy to optimize the security posture of the university. This position leads the development and implementation of a security program that leverages collaborations and campus-wide resources, facilitates information security governance, advises senior leadership on security direction and resource investments, and designs appropriate policies to manage information security risk. This position deals with a variety of complex issues that require in-depth theoretical and functional knowledge. The ISO is responsible for securing private data of faculty, staff and students, as well as working with researchers to design the information infrastructure necessary to support research that may use sensitive or confidential information. The ISO will be responsible for institution wide information security, including support for any new SHU facilities in downtown Greensburg.
The ISO position reports to the Vice President for Information Technology, CIO. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

A degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience) and prior experience as an Information Security Officer developing and administering an information security program is required. Experience in a complex higher education environment highly preferred. Demonstrated success in working with Internal Audit, System Auditors and/or outside consultants in a lead capacity to coordinate representation of institutional technology systems and practices is preferred. Professional certification (e.g., CISSP) is highly desirable.
Incumbent must also have the ability to effectively convey information in-person and in writing; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work well individually and/or as a member of a team; ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations; have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; and must be able to combine standing/walking 70% to 100% of a shift and lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
