BASIC FUNCTION: Direct SAIC administrative solutions that support student recruitment, student financial services, advising and related areas. Lead a team of support personnel and coordinate with related technology teams including student information systems, web and help desk teams. Work with the CIO and department heads to develop the technology roadmap and associated personnel plan, execute and support them.
Understands the administrative and business process needs of student service departments and develops and implements appropriate information technology solutions to address the needs.
Develops proposals and a roadmap for the implementation of effective technology solutions to consolidate various shadow systems and departmental databases, understanding the needs, peer solutions and marketplace analysis.
Manages vendor review process, proposal development, presentation to department heads, executives and steering committees to ensure appropriate fit for student service departments’ administrative needs.
Manages software implementation and enhancement requests process, software problem resolution, and the implementation of user training initiatives.
Directs Student Administrative Services Department staff in implementing and supporting various solutions including student recruitment, advising, and other auxiliary databases.
Coordinates with other CRIT teams in the Student Information Services, Web and Helpdesk areas, as appropriate, to ensure effective delivery of solutions to students, staff and faculty.
Coordinates with the Museum and Information Services departments in assessment, implementation and upgrade strategies for technology shared between the School and Museum, as appropriate.
Represents the School on various committees providing expertise in strategic planning and technology support for academic, administrative and operations initiatives.
Develops and maintains personal and staff functional and technical expertise with deployed administrative software solutions.
A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
5-8 years proven leadership and management experience in higher education administration preferred
Experience with student recruitment and student advising solutions preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform in a multitasking management environment
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage high performing teams
Excellent oral and written skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences including faculty, staff, students and external constituents
