Educational Technology Services (ETS) is a part of the Academic Technology Services group that provides technology services, support, and resources to the UC San Diego academic community, facilitating teaching and learning in service of the University's educational mission.
As part of the Multimedia Services team, the Managing Producer-Director will manage a team of video producer-directors and classroom technology experts. You will use your expertise with both video production and education technology to help ensure that UC San Diego students have access to the best instructional content accessed in the most efficient and effective ways. This position will work closely with our classroom technology, edtech support and edtech integration teams to manage pilots for cutting edge technology.
Oversees the Multimedia Services team, including the conceptualization, creation, editing, and delivery of professional-level online and hybrid course instructional videos.
Works closely with instructional designers and project managers to ensure the appropriate quality and quantity of video and assets to animation assets to enhance instruction.
Supervises the maintenance and security of AV equipment inventory, media production equipment and facilities, as well as fixed A/V installations at various sites.
Directly supervises staff multimedia specialists, outside contractors providing technical support, and student employees. Participates in developing and monitoring the Multimedia Services team operational budget.
Acts as Service Owner for Kaltura, UCSD's online video delivery system Partners closely with the Teaching + Learning Commons and ETS units to deliver effective classroom technology resources, support, and services.

A Bachelor's Degree in related area and four (4) years of professional media production experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in all phases of video production, including pre-production planning, lighting, directing talent, studio environments, remote location work, and post-production editing. Strong, demonstrated experience conceptualizing, producing, shooting, and editing professional quality videos including UHD and HD.
Proven experience producing media projects including coordinating talent, scheduling and directing production support staff
