Effectively participate in a strategic role in process improvements and value analysis initiatives with key stakeholders to develop effective strategic and operational cost reduction objectives, and implement those objectives. Acts as a champion for business process change, organizational change, and cultural change while resolving operational obstacles and differing stakeholder priorities. Provides facilitation and negotiation leadership, and analyzes costs/financial impact, services and contracts with the goal of attaining the best value, quality and service decision. Researches marketplace to identify and promote potential new opportunities for improved efficiency and savings. Utilizes all available tools to gain market knowledge, evaluate and negotiate best pricing of assigned categories. Resolves problems associated with vendor relationships. Coordinates with Supply Chain to ensure that all agreements are properly loaded within systems and products or services are properly implemented operationally. Effective communications to key stakeholders including but not limited to medical staff, clinicians, executive leaders and supplier executives.
1. Effectively participates in and supports various project teams and members of leadership to develop objectives and implement effective sourcing strategies. 2. Acts as a champion for business process and cultural change, including crafting solutions for business problems related to assigned projects. 3. Initiates, plans and independently executes complex projects. 4. Utilizes comprehensive business and market data for multiple and or complex categories to identify opportunities that may require process changes. 5. Manages portfolio of contracts and is responsible to ensure that agreements are renewed timely and do not expire without determination of desired result. 6. Coordinates with Supply Chain to ensure that all agreemtns are properly submitted to facilitate data systems upload in a clean and accurate manner as well as working with conjunction with Operations to ensure that contracts are implemented properly with quality outcomes and results. 7. Prioritizes projects, leads contract negotiations, and manages Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, leads negotiations, facilitates team support, documents business relationship with supplier and ensures implementation. 8. Conducts analytics that clearly define costs, and financial implications of contracting activities. 9. Negotiates pricing contracts, capital equipment and service contracts for assigned commodities and projects. 10. Coordinates the evaluation, analysis and bid process in a fair and ethical manner. 11. Compiles and communicates the pipeline of opportunities and the performance of the opportunities that are implemented by Supply Chain and departments. 12. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Piedmont Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. 13. Makes recommendations to the Executive Director of Strategic Sourcing & Purchasing related to strategic sourcing and operational changes which result in financial savings the organization.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
A Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university in Business or Health Administration, Nursing or a closely related field is required or in lieu of degree and in addition to the minimum required experience, Eight (8) years of experience in a Supply Chain or related role where financial analysis, contracting, and clinical analysis is required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in a Supply Chain or related role where financial analysis, contracting, and clinical analysis is required. Experience applying project management methodologies and practices, including developing a project plan, including charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as statement of work, cost estimates and schedule products and services utilized in a hospital setting. Working knowledge of automated materials management information systems. Proven ability to independently collect and review data to support contracting efforts. Knowledge of contract law and/or uniform commercial code preferred but not required.
Experience in a multi-facility setting is preferred. Documented completion of a project management training course is preferred. Experience presenting and reporting on project plans to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management is preferred.
