The Executive Director, Supply Chain Operations provides system wide leadership and support for the Purchasing and ERP Business Applications that support Supply Chain functions for all IU Health facilities system-wide. This position provides administrative decision making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material and financial resources. Reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Operations and works collaboratively with IU Health Leadership. This role leads the development and implementation of supply chain system-wide strategy to support enterprise goals. Develops capabilities and initiatives to support supply chain performance over a multi-year horizon, and is responsible for improving supply chain processes. Leads a supply chain management team directly to monitor core supply chain performance, including delivering against product and service level agreements, supplier diversity, cost objectives and better patient outcomes. Works closely with physicians, clinical leadership and supply chain personnel to drive systemizes, and optimize savings for supplies, services and equipment across the statewide network. Responsible for developing supply metrics to track progress across system and against national benchmarks to ensure we are exceeding expectations. Has overall responsibility for planning, design, implementation and administration for the purchase to pay process. The Executive Director, Supply Chain Operations bares primary responsibility for successful execution of strategic plan for their areas detailing clear quarterly deliverables. Establishes policy and direction (programs and services) for the system, and is accountable for system-wide results. This position is also responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems. The incumbent is accountable for driving preeminence throughout the assigned areas. Preeminence is being acknowledged as a leader in quality, clinical care, education and research by your peers. Acts as a partner of the IU Health leadership team and participates in the strategic planning and the attainment of goals for area of responsibility. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Operations. Requires a BS in Supply Chain, Business, Management or Hospital Administration, advanced degree preferred.
Requires knowledge of business applications with experience in supply chain management, contract negotiations and administration, and project management.
Requires superior people management and leadership competencies with proven problem resolution and facilitation skills.
Requires a blend of management skills with technical expertise proven by superior planning, decision-making, negotiation, leadership and financial management skills/knowledge with a focus to adding value to the bottom line of the business fostering a preeminent healthcare environment.
