Stanford University, recognized as one of the most prestigious and innovative academic institutions in the world, has an immediate opening for an Operations and Program Manager in the newly launched Center for Precision Mental Health and Wellness. The vision for the Center for Precision Mental Health and Wellness is to harness our best clinical neuroscience and technology to transform the way we understand and treat mental disorders and to promote mental wellness. The Center focuses on early detection of mental health disorders, personalized tailoring of interventions and development of prevention strategies. Center members work together in a multidisciplinary team. Our research goals focus on leading advances in five target areas, including i) Human neuroscience models and advance imaging for mental disorders such as depression, ii) Transformative new technologies, wearables and personal omics, iii) Novel designs for biomarker-guided interventional trials iv) Computational models and machine-learning for integrating multi-source biomedical data and v) Translation into clinical, student and work settings, policy, and broad community outreach. Because the Center is newly launched the OPM would have an exciting opportunity to have a creative role in developing the operational and communication systems for the Center, and to contribute to the foundations of an innovative interdisciplinary program for neuroscience-informed mental health. The program is anchored by research goals. However, there is a strong commitment to outreach and communication and to fostering engagement by researchers across the campus, students and staff across the campus, clinical professionals, tech experts and families and interested participants in the wider community, as well as national and international collaborators. The Operations and Program Manager (OPM) will administer, support, and manage programs and functions under general supervision. The OPM reports to the Director for the Center and the Executive team, and provides a full range of support for the Center and the Center's Director and Executive team. The position is central to the Center's efficient administrative, financial, operational and communication functions. The position will assist in developing and monitoring the development activities, and provide analysis, projections and communication strategies for prospective planning. The OPM will also oversee the day-to-day management of the Center program.
The Center currently has a primary base in the home department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, within the founding lab; the Williams PanLab for Precision Psychiatry and Translational Neuroscience. Communications, meetings, seminars and brainstorming sessions will engage all of these stakeholders and participants. The Center is established as a new Center of the School of Medicine and faculty participants also span the Schools of Humanities and Sciences and Engineering. Manage staff in the day-to-day operations for functional area(s) of responsibility. Responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, personal development for direct reports and accountable for the performance of employees. Ensure work completion within schedule and constraints.
May independently or in collaboration with human resources managers, guide faculty supervisors in the interpretation and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and programs.
Evaluate business processes and operational and/or financial effectiveness. Analyze and resolve complex issues and provide alternative solutions as necessary. May lead process improvement for immediate unit.
Analyze unit needs and make recommendations to leadership for changes in staffing, facilities, health and safety compliance, finance, technology and/or administrative functions. Work with the Chair and/or Dean's Office regarding resources to support faculty activities and interests.
Interpret, implement and ensure compliance with university academic and administrative policies and procedures within an operating unit. Recommend new internal policies, guidelines and procedures.
Manage the finances across all sources for the annual budget, including developing, monitoring, analyzing, forecasting and reporting.
Manage and coordinate grants and contracts for the department. Ensure compliance with institutional and external requirements.
Represent the unit's business and academic operations within the organization/school.
Manage student and faculty program administration for their unit.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or combination of education and relevant experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
