Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business, Department of Supply Chain Management, has an opening for a full-time, fixed-term academic specialist to act as the Director of the Master’s in Supply Chain Management program. The Director has primary responsibility for the day-to-day and long-term management of all program activities and resources.
Academic management: manage all program content including strategic program development in conjunction with the department chair and department faculty, providing leadership in the planning and development of curriculum, coordinate with faculty on program scheduling and presentation (including both online and onsite course requirements).
Course participation: act as the primary admission officer, providing outreach as needed with potential program participants, coordinate application review with the faculty director, act as the primary contact for student advising, and be responsible for monitoring all student participation, including enrollments, academic standing and financial standing.
Act as the primary manager of the third-party online service provider, reviewing all contacts with potential participants and sponsoring organizations. Act as a resource for program information to the contractor and program participants. Oversee communications and ensure contract execution.
Provide outreach as needed with potential program participants, attend SCM related conferences, speak to large groups or meet with individuals to disseminate program information.
Communications: manage program communications, coordinating communications with the department chair, the college and with central university offices regarding activities both academic and financial.
Financial management: in coordination with the department chair and fiscal officer, support the financial management of programmatic activities, including the generation, monitoring and updating of programmatic budgets.
Masters -Supply Chain Management preferred
A master's degree is required.
Candidates must possess experience in program management and management of a business program is a plus.
The successful candidate must have excellent writing skills, strong communications, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills; and technical skills in word-processing, spreadsheets, and web forms
The successful candidate should have experience in both online and onsite learning platforms and techniques to enhance remote based students' learning experience.
The ideal candidate would be detail oriented and capable of management of multiple areas of responsibility in the master’s program.
Having an educational background and professional work experience in supply chain management is highly desirable.
A master’s degree in supply chain management is preferable, and having a PhD is a plus.
