DMEA, is located in Montrose, Colo., a diverse community on the beautiful Western Slope – we think it’s the best slope – of the Rocky Mountains. Montrose offers a wealth of things to see and do; year-round recreational activities, picturesque historical sites, and pristine natural environments. It is also minutes from the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park and the perfect home base for day trips to world-class ski resorts in Telluride and Crested Butte.
Works closely with DMEA customers, System Designers and other DMEA employees across the company; works with City, County and Governmental permitting agencies, and with other persons to accomplish jobs as assigned. Assists in designing line extensions and electrical system improvements, prepares contracts, obtains rights-of-way easements, enters and extracts data using the computers, prepares necessary work order documents, answers customer’ questions, and clearly explains DMEA Extension Policy, Rates, and Electric Service Regulations to customers. The ability to read and interpret blueprints, experience in the use of electronic staking software and drawings and other engineering documentation; strong knowledge of the electric distribution system, and must have strong written & communication and skills, and organization is a must.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Must have a completion certificate of DMEA’s System Designer Apprenticeship or company-approved equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Must have experience working with the public. High school graduate or equivalent required. Must have experience in using various office machines such as personal computers, calculators, copying machines, typewriters, fax machines, telephones, transits and GPS units.
Successful candidates must be responsible, self-motivated, have a strong aptitude in design and the electrical field and be able to work in a fast pace environment. Must have strong safety approach, excellent organization skills, and be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. Must be willing to work in a team environment.
