Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Manager of Data Quality & Governance (DQG), this position supports the Institution's Data Quality Management program. The goal is to improve data integrity and information usability for internal decision making and for the increasing external data demands. This is accomplished by applying data quality management principles in cross functional settings specifically across the administrative and financial information supply chain. The Sr. Analyst will interact with various business data owners, data production system staff, data analysts, and decision makers to develop and implement proactive data quality practices.
Essential roles and functions include the following:
Project leadership to support information gathering, develop "data production maps" and business process flow charts for high priority data elements in the information supply chain and specified clinical statistical data elements.
Monitor data quality by developing and implementing Data Quality Dashboard for the Health System.
Project leadership to develop data quality policies and procedures for data standards, data certification and if appropriate into the Health System Policies and Procedures manual.
Provide consultative support in analytic, change control, process improvement efforts to various data content creation departments, such as Admissions, Hospital Operations, Health Information (Medical Records) as well as various data users departments such as Finance, Managed Care, and Business Development.
Support high priority initiative.
Develop validation process for reports or internal database.
The Sr. Analyst will work closely with other DQG staff including analysts and database specialists to solve data quality issues and data incidents as they are identified and reported to the Data Quality Management Unit. Tasks may include
Validate data integrity of data elements in information systems as they flow across systems, through interfaces, and by ETL processes
Support analytic data governance structures by facilitating communication among various data quality committees and task forces.
