The Role Responsibilities The role is a broad based one within the Standard Chartered Bank Germany FCC team and will cover all aspects of the AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Fraud Program. The role will work flexibly with other members of the FCC team and business management within SC Germany and the wider bank.
Business · Act as delegate to CMLCO/FCC Head · Advise on escalated matters relating to product or client AML and sanctions risk · Proactively identify product and client AML and sanctions risks and recommend mitigation strategies · Support and perform analysis of impact of financial crime related regulatory matters on the relevant business area and its operations. · Support communication of key changes (to laws, rules, regulations) in region/Germany, in coordination with group communications. · Keep track of and provide advice to relevant stakeholders on the interpretation and application of regulatory expectations, laws, best practices and policies related to FCC.
· Specifically execute reviews of product risks and controls · Manage escalations of AML and sanction matters relating to clients or transactions
Risk Management · Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, AML Monitoring and Case Management, ABC. · Apply Entity, Group and FCC policies and processes (AML surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
Regulatory & Business Conduct · Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. · Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank AG. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. · Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. · Represent the bank appropriately in front of Regulators and Regulatory agents as required. Relevant experience with experience of general Financial Crime Compliance (fraud / sanctions / anti money laundering/ ABC) or Compliance environment Professionally qualified - Graduate or Post Graduate in a business or law discipline Experience with local regulatory environment - focus on financial crime regulations Experience in Financial Crime Risk / Financial Crime Intelligence Excellent analytical and report-writing skills Excellent communication and inter-personal skills Able to work independently in an international environment Fluent, in German Fluent in English Apply now to join the Bank for those with big career ambitions.
