The College: The Haslam College of Business is home to more than 4,700undergraduate students and 500 graduate students. Six academicdepartments – Accounting and Information Systems, Business Analytics andStatistics, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing and Supply Chain –are housed in HCB, along with non-degree programs and centers that serve thecommunity and state. Undergraduate students at HCB have a choice of ninemajors, thirteen collaterals, and six dual concentrations. Theundergraduate office is well-respected throughout the university for theirprofessional advising center, and supports undergraduate student professionaldevelopment by programs including Executives-in-Residence, the Venture LivingLearning Community, and a business core focused on practical business knowledgeand leadership development. The Position: Reporting to the Director of UndergraduateProfessional & Career Development, the position of ProfessionalDevelopment Coordinator will have both teaching and program coordinationresponsibilities. This position will lead coordination of BUAD 405, one of theHaslam Prepared: Ready to Do Business courses. This is a series of four1-credit hour courses that are required of undergraduate business student thatenhance their professional and career development and preparation. BUAD 405focuses on Impact, one of the core pillars of the Haslam College of Business,helping students understand the importance of positively contributing to thecommunity and world. The Professional Development Coordinator will collaboratewith other faculty and staff to deliver multiple sections of one of the courses,ensuring appropriate learning outcomes and success metrics are gathered and met.It will also assist with other BUAD professional development courses as needed.Each course will reach 1,000+ students yearly in the Haslam College ofBusiness. Furthermore, the Professional Development Coordinator will coordinatethe Haslam Volunteer Impact initiative which emphasizes service and communityinvolvement among student. The role will have future supervision and trainingresponsibilities. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure trackstaff position. Pay Grade 41.
Responsibilities: Thisposition will be responsible for ongoing and newinitiatives related to student professional and career development, including teachingand programmatic responsibilities. The Professional DevelopmentCoordinators must have excellent communication, writing, teaching,decision-making, organizational, technology, and assessment skills. Theindividuals must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, teamenvironment. Duties may include but are not limited to:
·Coordinate implementation of BUAD 405, one ofthe Haslam Prepared: Ready to Do Business classes
·Lead the Haslam Volunteer Impact college-wideservice initiative
·Train and supervise peer professionals
·Collaborate with key faculty, staff and students
