As a Sr. Manager of Embedded Software Engineering, you'll have a leading role in delivering market leading products that control equipment around the world. You will need to provide exceptional leadership to 5-7 team leaders, and/or managers, who each manage their own teams of developers across the globe . This role will, also, require you to actively engage with the test, quality assurance, product management, customer support, user experience, IT and other shared service functions as well as other development organization to help your teams achieve greatness. You will be responsible for maintaining and raising our engineering standards, improving time to market, maintaining and improving excellent quality, driving adoption of new technologies and will be in a key position to lead the organization through rapid evolution. The embedded software organization is responsible for new product design as well as maintenance and evolution of existing products.
This position reports to the Engineering Director for the Control and Visualization Business (CVB)
To qualify, you will need to be experienced at leading teams of software engineers, as well as experienced in developing/coaching managers. Also, you will need an understanding of large-scale agile development and be someone who will bring excellent technical skills, and knowledge, as well as strong leadership and management abilities.
Lead the engineering team through the entire development lifecycle
Continuously look for ways to improve the overall practice of the engineering organization to increase throughput, improve quality, and reduce time to market
Actively engage with test, architecture, quality assurance, product management, customer support, IT and other shared services and other engineering organizations
Successfully manage, motivate and retain members of the organization
Participate in strategic planning to define technical direction and reach both technical and business objectives
Set workforce strategy, architecture direction and tools and technologies as required to meet business roadmaps.
