We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Tax Manager, Private Wealth Solutions.
The purpose of the role is to provide direction and guidance to management of trust business in respect of tax issues that are relevant to the business and ensure that tax compliance and tax related projects are properly implemented.
The role is to manage all tax related risks, for example Operational, Compliance, Regulatory, Reputational, in respect of the structures managed and administered by the trustee company.
To formulate and implement policies, procedures and practices in line with Group policies regarding tax compliance and tax risk management from a trustee perspective.
To provide day to day guidance as a trust subject matter expert, responsible for compliance of all complex, multi-jurisdictional trust and corporate structures administered by offshore trust business. To ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation and reporting systems with local and global tax obligations
Have strong technical knowledge of Common Reporting Standard and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act requirements for complex trust and corporate structures. Apply trust expertise to ensure compliance with Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act and Common Reporting Standard legislation even where guidance is silent or conflicting.
Monitor changes in the global tax and regulatory environment as it applies to trusts and assess any required changes in business policies and procedures. Ensure any necessary changes are embedded and provide ongoing training to the business. Have a good knowledge of tax in the Asia region, with a focus on private wealth and Hong Kong, People's Republic of China and Singapore being our key countries
To engage fully with decision makers and to provide firm direction at the earliest stage possible and to develop appropriate and consistent tax risk management solutions that support the Business needs and expectations.
Ensure the trustee's compliance with all relevant tax legislations, for example Criminal Corporate Offence Act, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, and Common Reporting Standard.
Knowledge of current laws and developments in the tax industry sector
Understands the strategy and objectives of the trust business and help drive deliveries in line
Preferably candidate have experience in trust and company administration
Have strong technical knowledge of Common Reporting Standard and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act requirements for complex trust and corporate structures.
Have a good understanding on United Kingdom tax implications as it applies to offshore trusts.
Ideally a holder of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners or other qualification relevant to trust and company administration

Ability to organise one's own and others' work and to prioritise effectively
