The Solution Consultant at Lucas Systems plays an integral role on our team by working directly with customers to identify opportunities to optimize their workflow and better engage their employees resulting in higher productivity, accuracy and service levels.
Working with our Sales team and our Lead Engineers, the Solution Consultant participates in sales discovery, creates a solution design, and develops the business case (ROI) to communicate the potential value and impact of the Lucas solution. They then work with the Commercial Software Project Managers and Lead Engineers to ensure the solution requirements and customer expectations are communicated and effectively addressed in the functional design and specifications of the solution. Post project execution, the Solution Consultant speaks to customer results and opportunities for internal and external continuous improvement.
Develops clear and differentiating value propositions by conducting an analysis of potential customer facilities and operations in support of the business development process.
Works with potential customers to justify a project and helps develop a business case along with Return on Investment, and works with the customer’s sponsor through the internal project authorization processes.
Defines key requirements of the solution and identifies scope of work.
Develops operational process designs and workflows to address requirements.
Supports functional development initiatives for the proposed solution.
Continues to develop and share industry/domain expertise and business acumen.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to develop creative and innovative solutions to problems.
Works well under pressure, is self-motivated, and is driven by results. Places great emphasis on the customer experience.
Ability to work across all levels of an organization.
Effectively communicates and explains difficult issues while working to establish consensus and remove obstacles to attainment of set goals.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required.
MBA or equivalent experience in business analysis preferred.
Ideally 2 years of experience in support of Manufacturing or Warehousing / Distribution (preferred), Supply Chain Management, Logistics Operations, Logistics Process or Industrial Engineering and Implementation on operational, tactical and strategic level with a primary focus on distribution applications.
Willingness for 25-50% travel on a regular basis.
