Pender Community Hospital has an opening for a Manager in our Materials Management Department. The right candidate should possess strong analytical skills, have great communication, be creative, think critically, and be able to negotiate. Strategy development and thought leadership experience required.
This position is responsible for managing and supervising the evaluation, procurement, storage and distribution of all supplies and equipment throughout the organization. Ensures effective department operations in the area of materials management. Researches and negotiates the cost of equipment/materials needs in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of PCH.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages day-to-day operations of the Materials Managements department effectively and efficiently. Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce. Manages departmental financial operations.
Participates in the strategic planning for the organization in relation to building and maintaining programs that support the organization's mission, vision, and values.
Devise ways to optimize inventory coordinating standardization of supplies, maintaining inventory turns, outdates and retiring assets.
Oversee the purchasing function utilizing acceptable purchasing practices and ensuring optimal participation in group purchasing agreements
Develops and manage contracting efforts and partnerships to achieve quality, cost management and strategic business development objectives.
Gather data, conduct analysis, and implement projects with the goal of improving the organization's supply chain operations
Develop process to enable supply chain functions to be run via computer systems or other forms of automation to increase productivity.
Oversee reconciliation process/Accounts Payable.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain and logistics management or related field or the knowledge usually attained through a four-year degree program
Minimum of 5 - 7 years progressive experience in defining and implementing supply chain management; strategy development and thought leadership experience required; in depth knowledge of supply purchasing and product category inventory maintenance
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in materials management computer system operational experience, data analytics and reporting
