The Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead is responsible for the most complex systems, designs, develops, installs, and maintains the infrastructure with minimal or no assistance. In addition to the system(s) itself, the position should work well with business operations customers and other stakeholders including technical resources from third party software providers, as well as, internal stakeholders from the BSWH Information Technology department such as: ERP, Applications, Servers, DBA, Storage, Network, Desktop, Citrix, etc. This is a working team leader role responsible for managing a technical team for planning, directing, and coordinating assignments and projects. This position provides mentoring and training for other team members including the understanding of Baylor policies, procedures and standards, all areas of system administration, system design, implementations, updates, maintenance, support, documentation, reporting, research and development. The Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead will also have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Works directly with the Applications team and developers to provide technical support for project implementation
Creates and maintains system reports such as uptime/availability, system utilization and growth
Performs complex system upgrades for both software and hardware, performance tuning and also performs shell scripting for highly complex procedure automation
Provides accurate and up to date system, site and project documentation
Should be seen as the go to person for all platform specific system related questions and/or concerns that are project/incident driven.
Identifies, documents, resolves, and communicates the solution of system problems/issues to end users directly and takes the lead as to this communication during project meetings and discussions
Responsible for system design and implementations including system architecture, disaster recovery procedures, developing project requirements, software installations, and configurations for complex systems without assistance
Maintains technical relationships and evaluates market technologies associated with systems vendors so that as product enhancements are made or new products become available, an understanding can be obtained to determine how they could be beneficially applied to customer and Baylor environments
Provides consultative services to assigned areas and serves as a liaison between department, users, and personnel
Conducts all Human Resources related activities, inclusive of interviews, supervision, performance evaluations, development, coaching, feedback, reward and recognition, scheduling, leaves, policy and procedure administration
The ideal Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead will hold a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead will have experience with Supply Chain processes and systems and distribution/warehouse management systems and systems architecture. The ideal Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead will be able to act as a project leader to develop, program, implement and maintain systems while proactively monitoring and maintaining specified systems before users have system issues or problems. The ideal Systems Engineer Supply Chain Lead will also have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities, including but not limited to:
Experience working with external customers to gather technical requirements
Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology, agile development and or waterfall development processes
Problem solving system processes and strong knowledge of data flow and integration
Lean or Six Sigma certification desirable
Ability to quickly learn new software and applications
Strong customer facing and presentation skills
Demonstrated effectiveness to consult, sell and/or influence others to adopt ideas and/or methodologies
