The IBM CIO organization is looking for an experienced ETL developer to work as a member of our internal agile software development squad. We play a major role in delivering new technology to the IBMers. Our applications are built by self-directed, end-to-end development squads, and we are looking for an ETL developer who will collaborate with multiple squads to provide technical leadership to implement the Pricing@IBM strategy. Our strategy includes migrating from DataStage to to new ETL technology as we migrate to IBM cloud services infrastructure. Key experiences required include Apache SPARK, Apache Kafka, Python, and Parquet formats. Also, since much of our existing ETL is coded in DataStage, significant experience using DataStage is needed. Experience with Scala would also be nice to have, and experience in converting legacy ETL into the newer technologies is highly valued as well.
You will also be responsible involved in using the DevOps tools for continuous integration, builds, and monitoring of the solutions. You will join and exciting team, in an open landscaped, collaborative environment using agile delivery methods. The ETL developer job duties include:
Serve as overall subject matter expert on ETL technology design based on market capabilities/trends and alignment with other internal IBM ETL implementations.
Lead the migration of ETL components into the new cloud based environments for the Pricing@IBM initiative.
Collaborate with other technical leaders to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements and designs.
Formulate detailed design specifications and data mapping for stable and secure computing operations in a dynamic cloud based environment.CIO
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
A minimum of 5 years experience in
ETL design, coding, testing and debugging skills, including proven technical knowledge of ETL tools (DataStage v8.5 or greater), RDBMS
Understanding and interpreting data models
Parallel job design
Writing SQL against relational databases (DB2 preferable)
Working in Unix and Linux environments
Reading, creating and enhancing source to target mapping documents
Demonstrated experience in:
Apache Spark, Python, Parquet formats and cloud based architecture (e.g. Bluemix or AWS)
Analyzing impact of proposed solutions, developing use cases and source to target data mappings
Learning business processes and how data movement is closely integrated with those business processes
Working as part of an Agile team as a strong team player
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, work ethic and eagerness to learn Ability to be flexible to schedules and work assignments, including possible on-call duty for deployments or support
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Demonstrated experience with IBM Cognos Reporting would be a plus
2 plus years in Full-stack development experience (AngularJS, Node.js, jQuery), with a stronger need for backend experience
2 plus years of advanced practice of Agile development methodologies
2 plus years of experience in DevOps (for example: Jenkins, Travis CI, UrbanCode Deploy, Nagios)
Experience in Jasmine/Karma or a similar unit/functional testing framework
Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience in Automated Testing
Experience with Data Science / Data Analyst and their associated tools
