Media Services Technicians support users of AV and IT equipment in classrooms and event spaces, maintains equipment and collaborates with colleagues to ensure high quality services are delivered to the campus community, faculty needs are met and customer satisfaction is high. This position will periodically require work outside of normal business hours (evening and weekends) and will routinely require lifting, pushing, sliding and moving of objects weighing more than 50lbs. This position will involve moving equipment across campus in a variety of weather conditions both on foot and with Brown vehicles.
1 year of experience providing AV support or equivalent required.
Experience in academic computing support in higher education preferred.
Experience with multiple platforms (Window, iOS) required.
Working knowledge of AV equipment including troubleshooting skills required.
Basic understanding of signal flow preferred.
Working knowledge of Crestron room control systems and ability to administer/troubleshoot system via room touch panel and remotely via Fusion preferred.
Excellent customer service skills; strong commitment to customer service; and positive attitude required.
Ability to work effectively in a group and as a member of a project team required.
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to meet needs of customers in a quick and effective manner required.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks required.
Clean driving record required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to understand and present complex technical issues to a diverse customer base required.
Ability to work independently and proactively; work effectively in a group and as a member of a project team required.
