Plant Manager, SAP – Freeport, TX (1900757)
As the Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) Plant Manager, you will establish strategic goals, objectives, operational budgets and strategic targets for the following departments that fall under the Plant Manager's responsibility: Production, Technology, Process Laboratory, Asset Management, Supply Chain, and Warehouse. You will be responsible for all aspects of Asset Management for North American the Manufacturing including development of a long-term asset strategy (Asset Target Picture), a medium-term asset management plan, CAPEX plan development and implementation, and budget management.
You will sit on the Petrochemicals Leadership Team for safety related topics (A/B Incident Reviews, Safety Meetings) and serve as the North American SAP Manufacturing primary point of contact for Global Operations, Technology and Supply Chain, Key Account Leaders, Global Quality Assurance, and Global EH&S. You will establish an environment that fosters a customer first, winning together spirit.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success:
Leveraging your academic background in Chemistry, Engineering or another technical discipline, you will maintain full responsibility and accountability for a fixed cost budget including budget setting, monitoring, management and communication; you will serve as a gatekeeper for plant modifications including management of change (MOC)
Your extensive operations experience in a manufacturing environment will allow you to identify and implement work process changes, knowledge transfer requirements, and methods to enable transitions required to support the organization
Tapping in to your experience with LEAN methodology and tools and continuous improvement methods , you will be responsible for the development and execution of Operational Excellence programs to foster continuous improvement
Your proven supervisory and leadership Skills will serve you well as yo u coach and develop personnel into high performance teams that exemplify the culture and behaviors required by BASF; you will also identify training needs of the Production, Technology, Quality, Asset Management and Supply Chain teams and leverage the Learning and Development Coordinator role to provide necessary training opportunities
You will interface directly with key customers to demonstrate commitment to quality, housekeeping and delivery reliability
As part of the Freeport Site Leadership Team, representing the SAP business, you will lead customer visits and audits to ensure that Freeport is maintaining a good standing with our customers and meeting and/or exceeding their expectations
