Production Regulations Specialist (1900892) – Southfield, MI
Where the Chemistry Happens
The Product Regulatory Team is responsible for supporting BASF business groups by assuring product compliance to International, Federal, State and local regulations through a North American shared services platform. The function supports sales and marketing initiatives and day-to-day business operations. Communication and close working relationships with BASF Groups is a vital part of this function.
We are seeking a professional like you for this dynamic job that provides a core set of knowledge in the SAP systems and the interactions between modules; operates in a cross-functional environment with significant involvement with Business Marketing & Supply Chain, operating/ Manufacturing plants, Sampling, Customer Service teams both in the North American region as well as with global contacts in Europe, Asia Pacific and Central & South America. This position also requires involvement with the UN Global Harmonization System (GHS) to support exports for Europe and Asia Pacific regions.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
· Leveraging your product regulatory knowledge, you will engage with global and regional business contacts to communicate the impact of regulatory changes on your portfolio.
· Your educational and professional background in Chemistry, Toxicology, Sciences or other technical discipline will be a valued asset in North America in gathering, assessing and generating product safety information and in consulting with R&D and Manufacturing on new product launches and management of change topics.
· Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will identify and implement cost savings, cost avoidances, and/or bottom-line contributions.
· Collaborating across the global BASF network and externally with raw material suppliers, you will determine worldwide registration status for your portfolio to enable global promotion.
· Demonstrating your knowledge of regulations, Global Trade Control System and Global Label Management, you will generate North American GHS SDS's and labels for your portfolio.
