Hartford Hospital is interested in recruiting a staff pharmacist with future management/leadership interest. Hartford Hospital is part of Hartford HealthCare (HHC), a seven hospital IDN located in Connecticut. HHC formed a system pharmacy leadership team in the Fall of 2018. We anticipate further growth in pharmacy as the system team continues to vet out new opportunities for growth.
Hartford Hospital is an 819 bed tertiary care Academic Medical Center and the flagship hospital of HHC. Pharmacists at Hartford Hospital participate in caring for some of the sickest patients in our region . We are a level 1 trauma center with six intensive care units. Our pharmacists practice in a decentralized model and participate in various medical rounds each day. Hartford Hospital also has a growing Oncology service and a robust in-house Specialty Pharmacy program. The Hartford Hospital Pharmacy Department is affiliated with two schools of pharmacy (University of Connecticut and University of St. Joseph) with students and embedded faculty on site. We also have an accredited PGY-1 Residency program and a PGY-2 program in Infectious Diseases.
Interested applicants would receive full staff training in the inpatient pharmacy and should expect to staff in a mutually agreed upon area. They would also receive formal mentoring from members of the Hartford Hospital/HHC leadership team.
Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire. PGY-1 Pharmacy residency required. Prior experience with EPIC systems preferred.

The Pharmacy Department at Hartford Hospital utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to advice on optimal drug therapy. We also have an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Pharmacy Residency program, an active Oncology infusion service, and a Retail/Specialty outpatient pharmacy.
