You'll have people management responsibility for a team of Audit managers
What you'll do
In this role, you'll be responsible for undertaking tasks delegated to you by Accountable Auditors to perform audit work on complex and large size audits (for example audits of High or Medium-High Risk related audit universe entities and Enhanced Scrutiny Engagements).
Overseeing a portfolio of engagements at any one point in time you'll ensure that engagements are delivered to budget and on time whilst also strengthening your team by recruiting and managing peformance
Actively contribute to the wider strategic initiatives of the Internal Audit function
Contribute to continuous risk assessment and monitoring, often taking responsibility for a particular business area or risk element
Have input into the plan for assigned business areas on an ongoing basis
Provide quarterly insights to the wider bank's Audit Committee and executive management
Oversee that engagement teams comply with methodology and appropriately use the tools available
Influence senior management within the bank to improve control
Monitor business performance to check that outstanding issues are effectively monitored and resolved in a reasonable timeframe
Operate as a key stakeholder, facing off to our Natwest Markets business.
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with the technical knowledge to do this role who's an experienced manager with a strong understanding of the principles of risk and controls, as well as control assurance.
Prior experience working in any of the three lines of defence in an investment bank, either implementing or independent reviewing and challenging electronic and algorithmic trading controls
An understanding of the global regulatory landscape and upcoming market developments and innovations related to electronic and algorithmic trading
Strong knowledge of products and market structure for FX and Currencies, Rates and Credit
Prior experience with using audit tools and techniques (including data analytics and agile auditing)
Basic programming skills beneficial, with the ability to read, understand and challenge algorithmic trading controls embedded within software source code
An ability to actively identify and help develop talent
People management experience
A professional qualification or equivalent work experience
Prior application development and technology experience in investment banking would also be beneficial.
