Responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the supply chain process including vendor contract management, purchasing, inventory control, receiving and storage, distribution, print shop and mail service. Reports to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and works collaboratively with management and staff of Saratoga Hospital and affiliates o provide effective and efficient supply chain management The Director of Materials Management will also serve as a resource to senior management and physicians in matters related to purchasing procedures, expense reduction initiatives, value analysis and contract negotiations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management: Develops, implements, and administers a coordinated supply chain support system that operates efficiently to meet the needs of the organization. Ensures that adequate operating supply levels are maintained at all times and that supplies are distributed in a timely manner. Responsible for the overall direction of the functions of supply chain to drive accountability, efficiency, cost effectiveness, service quality, and end user experience.
Fiscal Management: Develops and monitors annual operating budget. Analyzes monthly budget variances and develops corrective action plans as appropriate.
Information Management and Analysis: Provides information and supply chain analytics to management through routine and customized reports, supply utilization analysis, and capital expenditure management.
Human Resource Management: Develops staff through coaching, mentoring, education, feedback and training. Conducts thorough and timely annual evaluations providing effective feedback for performance improvement, recognizes strengths and provides corrective action as indicated. Effectively applies human resource policies and seeks appropriate human resource consultation.
Vendor Relationships and Contract Management: Effectively manages relationships with vendors. including contract negotiations with the goal of managing cost and ensuring access to products. Manages vendor contracts and works collaboratively through the affiliation supply chain utilizing system contracts and agreements for major supplies and equipment with emphasis on standardization and contract compliance
Product Evaluation: Schedules and manages all product evaluations. Participates in standardization of products, services and equipment. Routinely conducts product research and proactively introduces potential new products for evaluation that emphasizes cost savings while maintaining or improving quality of care.
Chairs the Non-Clinical Capital Committee.
Participates on Value Analysis and Forms Management Committees.
A bachelor's degree in business, management or another related field, is preferred. Clinical experience (RN or other Allied Health) preferred. A minimum of 7 years experience in a supply chain environment required, preferably in the medical field, with demonstrated progressive responsibility.
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience required.
