American Tower’s Supply Chain Organization strategically sources quality materials and services at lowest total cost by using a supplier management program that leverages best-in-class people, systems, and processes. The Fleet Manager oversees the supply chain cycle for the strategic planning, forecasting, purchasing, tracking, and disposing of Company vehicles. The Fleet Manager also supports the supply chain cycle and leads projects related to a fleet of unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”) and other similar assets. The incumbent is the Company’s U.S. Tower division's subject matter expert in this area and will at times collaborate with the Company’s corporate and international divisions.
The Fleet Manager brings best-in-class practices, sourcing methodologies, and execution to the position. The Fleet Manager develops processes to optimize total cost of ownership and logistics and improve overall supply chain effectiveness and responsiveness. The incumbent is the primary engagement partner with all outsourced vendors related to fleet management and will work on matters including driving habit improvement initiatives, changes to regulations, and promotion of best-practices. The Fleet Manager must think creatively and challenge the status quo while upholding the highest integrity and compliance and must demand this of our key supplier partners as well. The Fleet Manager partners with the Human Resources, Safety, and Legal teams to develop protocols and measurement tools to drive compliance and promote operator safety.
Overall ownership of the vehicle fleet program, including design and execution of optimal insource verses outsource resource model.
Implement fleet management best practices that result in improved fuel efficiency and safety, selection of vehicles that meet business needs, and necessary systems and processes that improve controls and compliance.
Lead Supply Chain responsibilities related to UAS fleet and other related support assets.
Maximize the value of key supplier partnerships of all supported programs.
Develop and communicate all fleet policies and procedures and work closely with the Safety team to ensure alignment.
Deliver continuous improvement through ongoing review of the fleet makeup, policies, and safety requirements and present recommendations for enhancements.
Ensure orders are reviewed and approved in accordance with applicable policies.
Develop, refine, and manage department standards for personnel performance, vehicles, vehicle repairs, data collection, data reports, and vehicle specifications.
Negotiate and manage contract and relationships with leasing companies, automotive and parts suppliers, and maintenance and fleet card providers.
Coordinate and manage vendors to ensure proper vehicle maintenance.
Provide a safe, legal, cost effective fleet of vehicles with minimal downtime while meeting the needs of the department’s clients.
Work with internal and external parties to develop and control annual expense and capital budgets.
Work with employees and vendors to monitor and ensure that fleet is maintained in accordance with established Standards of Condition and that all established policies and practices are properly followed.
Ensure that monthly reporting is distributed to stakeholders using available internal and external reporting capabilities.
Maintain accurate records of all vehicles’ repairs and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation requirements as they relate to the fleet, including performing annual inspections.

Demonstrated fleet management, program management, and supplier relationship management experience.
Ability to negotiate fleet contract maintenance agreements and with outside vendors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
A minimum of 5 years of fleet management experience implementing operational goals, objectives, and procedures required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience planning and coordinating an effective preventive maintenance program required.
Minimum of 5 years of negotiation and ongoing relationship and performance management of contract fleet maintenance agreements and outside vendors required.
Wireless telecommunications industry and UAS experience preferred.
Approximately 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 5% travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
