CHELCO, a progressive member-owned electric utility in DeFuniak Springs, seeks an IT Network Engineer to manage IT projects, systems, engineer new network infrastructure and reengineer networks; while ensuring the availability of its computer systems 98% of the time; and champion effective utilization of its technology resources. This challenging position offers variety, creative problem solving, and new environments.
The following qualifications and skills are required: High School Diploma or equivalent and at least ten years of directly related experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least five years directly related experience. CompTIA A+, Network +, Project +, and Security + certifications desired.
The desired candidate will have the following qualifications/skills:
Strong computer skills and familiarity with databases, web servers, and cloud computing.
Strength in analyzing and problem resolution.
Knowledge of new technology trends with an emphasis on the electric utility industry.
Knowledge of computer hardware, smartphones, and tablets.
Knowledge of best practices related to computer security.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential information.
Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task.
The normal workweek is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the CHELCO Headquarters building in DeFuniak Springs. With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance at a designated worksite location is considered essential.
