Bullis School seeks an innovative, energetic, and dedicated candidate for the role of Administrative Assistant for the College Counseling Office. Bullis School is an independent coeducational college preparatory day school for students in grades K-12 located in Potomac, MD that provides a student-centered balanced experience in academics, the arts, athletics, and community service. The Administrative Assistant provides a wide range of administrative support to the College Counselors and assists with coordinating various workshops and programs throughout the year. The position serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, and college representatives visiting the office and is responsible for creating a positive, welcoming, and professional atmosphere. Technology use is an ongoing and integral aspect of the College Counseling Office. The ideal candidate should possess the desire and ability to learn new technologies and applications, such as Naviance and Veracross computer programs.
This position begins July 2019 and is an eleven-month position. Eleven-month staff generally work from August 1 to June 30 (with all days off during the school year when school is not in session) with twenty days off each summer that may be used anytime between June 15 and August 15, pending supervisor approval.
Qualified candidates should possess following education & experience:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent education and experience
High degree of discretion and confidentiality, as necessary and appropriate
Detail-oriented, with the capacity to effectively and efficiently manage numerous small and large tasks
Proficiency with Windows and Apple OS, Microsoft Office, cloud computing (Google Suite, etc.), and other productivity and media software
Working knowledge of technology systems, including networks and hardware management
Enjoy working in a cooperative, team-oriented environment
Must be able to exchange accurate information in a professional manner with parents, students, faculty, staff and other professionals
Prior experience working in a school setting, preferred
Proficiency working with Naviance and Veracross computer software programs, preferred
