We are seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years of C Programming experience utilizing embedded SQL within a Linux/Unix environment. The software engineer will provide project development and long term support of the existing GPMS (Gross Pay Management System) custom software. The ideal candidate will need to be familiar and have practical experience in the full development life cycle. This hands-on position will require the ability to work both independently as well as in a small team environment. They would report to an IT manager/team lead and be part of the Payroll team working within an agile sprint methodology.
Qualifications & Required Skills

Experience in and understanding of 24/7 manufacturing systems.
Five plus (5+) years of C programming under Linux/Unix environments.
Five plus (5+) years with complex SQL writing.
At least three (3) years of in depth knowledge with makefiles for C programs.
Comfortable providing task/project estimates to management on a weekly basis (and updates before being asked, when they are behind schedule)
Experience in Shell Scripting with bash and/or Perl.
Demonstrate the ability to prepare and execute test plans
At least two (2) years of systems analysis, programming or other IT experience.
At least two (2) years of experience with software development lifecycle.
Good understanding and experience working within a Linux/Unix development environment.
Payroll support experience in any facet.
Administrator knowledge of Ingres RDBM (relational database.
Understanding of Ingres ESQL/C, Ingres ABF, Ingres RBF, database procedures, reports, etc.
Experience working and adapting in an Agile
Show signs of growth into a leadership role within 3-5 years and take on progressive responsibilities through merit and hard work
Develop and Support the GPMS Software and aid in its expansion as the corporate system of choice.
Adapt a clear understanding of current business process and help incorporate IT solutions accordingly.
Responsible for translating high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications and managing requests for changes to the systems specifications.
Assist the business in determining which business requirements can and should be automated and how they are then integrated with other business and technical processes.
Extensive Data Research, development in assigned technology, help determine business requirements, propose changes, develop migration and implementation plans, and may execute projects based on these activities.
Communicates design, functional, and technical specifications to development team.
Provides solution planning and estimating of programs and projects.
Complete tasks, reporting status and work assignments in a timely fashion.
