The Management Information Systems Department at the College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University is seeking qualified applicants for a Teaching Assistant Professor (TAP) position beginning August 15, 2019, or if not filled, January 1, 2020. This is a non-tenure, continuing appointment.
Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate MIS courses in subjects such as programming languages, data structures, computer literacy, systems programming, networking and network security, systems analysis and design, database technologies and cybersecurity. Duties may include teaching graduate level courses in MIS or Cybersecurity. Duties will also include student retention, recruitment and placement activities.
Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. (obtained by January 2020) in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration or related field, knowledge of the subject matter, evidence of teaching excellence with proven teaching expertise. Expertise in either the information systems practitioner area or practical research applications will also be highly valued. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Applicant must be fluent in writing and speaking English. Knowledge of cybersecurity, programming, data analytics, systems analysis and design, and telecommunications skills are desirable.
