This includes strategic leadership for a nursing informatics program that spans the care continuum.
The CNIO aligns with the CTO (chief transformation officer) to lead the training and integration of technology based nursing workflows and operational processes, quality patient care realization, and integration of data outcome metrics that support clinical and financial decision making. Additionally, drives LEAN processes to improve technology based nursing workflows and increase nursing and customer satisfaction of clinical technology use. The CNIO aligns with the CMIO (Chief Medical Informatics Officer) and SVP Shared Services to transform and support nursing processes related to ancillary informatics initiatives including, but not limited to, pharmacy informatics, laboratory informatics, clinical resource operations initiatives impacting nursing documentation, nursing documentation that drives accurate and timely charge capture, incorporation of medical device scanning and unique device identifier implementation into nursing documentation processes, radiology informatics, supply chain management/asset tracking, and health information management/legal medical record. The CNIO provides strategic direction and oversight into the development of a sustainable education model for the identification and development of informatics resources and nurse educator informatics education.
Oversees IT implementations to mitigate unintended consequences to patient quality and safety. The role works in collaboration with the CIO, CMIO, CTO, CCO (Chief Clinical Officer) and SVP Shared Services in the strategy, development and implementation of Information Technology to support multidisciplinary care providers and their patients and customers. The CNIO serves as a liaison for clinical senior leadership of nursing informatics at the national and local levels. Reports to CIO directly and matrixed to the CTO to drive informatics for nursing.Important to this role is understanding the leadership expectations of this position and the entire leadership team throughout Centura Health. The VP & Chief Nursing Informatics Officer must have a personal and professional connection to the Mission of our Christian organization. What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
10 years experience in nursing Informatics with evidence of significant experience in informatics and implementations.
Masters degree in informatics or related field required.
Doctorate (DNP or PhD) degree preferred
RN - Colorado RN License or Current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact - Required
ANCC Informatics and/or exeutive required within 6 months of hire Certification in an Epic application preferred.Â
5 years experience with proven business outcomes through change management across a matrixed multi-hospital corporate structure to include: Leadership Models, Processes, and Practices, Effective Interdisciplinary Teams, Effective Communications, Project Management, Strategic and Financial Planning for Clinical Information Systems, and Change Management.
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading teams to drive measurable outcomes, managing complex initiatives from conception to successful implementation. Ability to effectively lead through ambiguity and bring clarity to teams to drive successful outcomes.
Ability to learn, build and drive LEAN processes and process improvement across multidisciplinary teams.
