HF European Equity Sales role - selling our key content into HF clients to drive top advisory ranks and collect across all Equity channels including Cash, Prime, Derivatives and Delta 1.
The role sits within the European / Global generalist team in London. The team is responsible for driving advisory ranks across both HF and Long Only accounts. They interact across the wider floor with a range of Equity functions including Research, Sales-Trading, Trading, Delta 1, Derivatives or Prime.
Drive European Equity Advisory ranks, predominantly for HFs but also for some Long Only institutions in a broader account management role by using content to drive meetings, calls and overall intensity in the form of generalist, specialist and research interactions, into the account using the global research product
Driving profitability with key accounts including controlling the resourcing inputs to make sure we are targeting the optimal ranks that put us in the profitability 'sweet spot' with the account
Coordinate with Cash (Sales-Trading and Trading), Delta 1 and Derivatives to help clients express views across both Cash and ex-Cash functions
Liaise with Blocks and ECM to make sure we sound out clients for forthcoming block situations, gauge what appetite is pre and post the situations and make sure we drive client intel around broader deal situations
Contribute and drive performance in alpha capture systems making sure to understand the linkage to flow in Prime Finance
Look to leverage senior CIO and Equity PM relationships to drive ex cash wins eg Prime Finance
This role will allow for technical development across multiple channels and we also expect the candidate to be a culture carrier helping evolve the future coverage model for Hedge Funds and Asset Managers. There is considerable room to learn other Equity products from a more technical perspective eg Derivatives, D1 and Prime hence adding to the 'hedge fund tool kit' of products and services to offer into clients. There is room to further expand this to real cross-selling across the broader franchise, given Citi's strengths in Fixed Income products.
FCA qualified with clean track record (no exceptions)
Extensive years of Sales experience within Equities
Specific focus on HFs within client base
Top ranks and relationships with key PM and CIO personnel at HFs and Long Only institutions
Important to have considerable experience selling wider ex-Cash equity products
Extensive experience in distributing Equity deals
Analytical skills and experience in understanding how to value stocks
An ability to form relationships with senior personnel at HF and long only clients
An aptitude to understand more complex Equity products outside of Cash
Energetic, enthusiastic, can-do attitude who strives to get things done
An ability to form key relationships with key personnel and functions internally as well as externally
A natural curiosity for understanding stocks and other Equity products
