Route Development Manager, Schenker, Inc., Schaumburg, IL. Develop, promote, identify, investigate and evaluate new business and existing business for specific trade lane development focused on Import/Export Air and Ocean in the US to support regional company growth objectives. Establish customer contact and rapport to maintain awareness of customers’ business objectives in conjunction with ongoing account maintenance. Utilize customer knowledge to develop additional or new opportunities for defined route. Qualify inquiries/bids against target market, core competency, tonnage and TEU potential, company capabilities, and projected business forecast. Support RFP processes to include solution design concepts, deadlines, supply added information, presentation, process/status tracking specific to trade lane development. Assist and participate in contractual negotiations.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related discipline, plus 2 years of sales supervisory or management experience.
Must have at least 1 year of experience in each of the following:
- Working with transportation and logistics subjects;
- Creating written strategic action and business plans;
- Managing RFP processes; and
- Utilizing CRM tool.
Must be fluent (written and oral) in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Travel required up to 20%.
