The Role Responsibilities
Play a leading role in supporting the Head, Sanctions Compliance Programme in their role as Global Process Owner for Sanctions Act
Assist Senior Sanctions Management in defining Sanctions Governance approach and implementing the Sanctions Compliance Programme
Work closely with the FCC MI team to develop consistent and progressive Sanctions related MI
Support Group efforts derived from metrics and global sanctions action plan, partner with the relevant groups (Region, Business, Financial Crime Compliance, Global Shared Services Centre) to develop appropriate mitigation strategies
Proactively assist Regional Head, Sanctions and Regional Head of FCC and Group FCC to ensure implementation of the Sanctions Compliance Programme
Support the Business, including their risk, operations and compliance colleagues are stakeholders interested in the successful performance of this role
Develop approaches to improve the Group Sanctions efficiency through MI and reporting
Assist the Head, Sanctions Compliance Programme with the oversight and running of the Sanction Programme work being undertaken within the hub locations
Work with stakeholders (Region, Country and Business) to develop sanctions programme metrics
Member of the Group's sanctions compliance team, within FCC, working with Legal and Business colleagues in countries within the Group and region, where required.
Collaboration required with Region and Country FCC team, processing hubs, and with Client Segments colleagues in Group.
Share best practices with regions/countries to ensure appropriate controls are implemented in a timely manner to address inherent risks
Provide inputs to help assist the make process improvements across all levels of the Sanctions end to end processes

Write, update and support sanctions operational risk assessment across Groups key processes
Support the Group Head of Sanctions Compliance in their role as Global Sanctions Risk Owner
Escalate to Group Head of Sanctions Compliance / Specialist teams or relevant stakeholders for any material breaches or potential breaches of sanctions laws, regulation or Group procedures
Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to Sanctions Name and Transaction Screening, Sanctions Risk Events, Sanctions Advisory Tool, and Global Sanctions Action Plan
Align/support with the alignment of relevant systems and controls to industry best practice and close out any compliance gaps.
Provide advice on the application of risk management frameworks (e.g. ORF, GRA).
Apply Group and FCC policies and processes (AML surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.
Make recommendations (and/or implement) to relevant stakeholders on possible risk management responses to identified risks and/or findings of concerns from investigations.
Implement Sanctions risks identification and assessment methodologies.
Advise relevant stakeholders on outcomes of Sanctions risks identification and assessment methodologies.
Lead the Sanctions Programme Working Group, providing oversight on key sanctions related matters to stakeholders and ensuring that key Sanctions decisions are made correctly and efficiently
Work closely with the Regional Sanctions Governance staff to support a consistent global approach to Sanctions governance
Own and Track Group Sanctions programme issues and follow up with accountable personnel on timely resolution through the Group Sanctions Action Plan.
Provide support for internal and external audits and other reviews and track accountable owners accordingly
As needed, collaborate with regional sanctions teams, group sanctions control team with respect to sanctions governance operations; training, risk assessments and oversight.
Provide management summary to the exceptions from Sanction Metrics/MI including GSAP MI and Advisory Tool MI, as needed.
Ensure accurate and relevant updates, reports are provided to applicable sanctions governance and FCC forums.
Team to develop reports as needed by Governance committee and FCC Management team
Drive the production of ongoing Management Information as well Ad-hoc reports required by the relevant Risk Committees.

Our Ideal Candidate
Relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance within a financial institution, and preferably strong subject matter expertise in the area of Sanctions compliance / FCC.
Experience of a broad range of personal and commercial banking services / banking operations and processes.
Proven communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels.
Leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Ability to collaborate and work dynamically across country, region, business and group stakeholders
Sound working knowledge of MS Office suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Understanding of best practice risk management techniques and frameworks
