The Role Responsibilities
Support the Global Head, Privacy Compliance in setting the strategy for identifying and managing the Group's data privacy risks.
Provide advice on privacy risks arising in the Business, Functions and countries in which the Group operates.
Advise on and assess Privacy Impact Assessments.
Help manage the Privacy Impact Assessment administration process.
Support the Global Head, Privacy Compliance and the Compliance Risk Type Framework Owner to effectively manage privacy risk.
Foster an environment that drives appropriate privacy risk control behaviour, including early anticipation, identification and mitigation of privacy risk, escalating issues in line with the Group Operational Risk Framework.
Provide expert guidance on the identification and management of privacy risk.
Lead risk assessments to identify gaps and deficiencies, and help to determine remedial action to correct or mitigate risk.
Monitor privacy performance metrics and assist in determining whether they indicate a need for corrective action.
Provide expert advice on the interpretation, application and implementation of privacy law.
Maintain a watching brief on legislative changes and advise on how changes will impact the Group.
Stay abreast of industry best practice developments and provide relevant insight where there is impact to the Group.
Ensure proactive and timely identification, assessment, advice and dissemination of evolving legal and regulatory changes / practices and associated risks on privacy issues across the Group.
Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
Partner with Group, Regional and Country Compliance, the Business and the Functions to ensure effective management of privacy issues across the Group and manage critical issues that have a significant legal and regulatory impact on the Group.
Promote good privacy practice and standards across the Group.

Our Ideal Candidate
At least 10 years' experience in compliance, advisory roles at a country or group level, with a minimum of 5 years' experience advising on privacy requirements, risks and designing / developing solutions to problems, including employee privacy.
Technical knowledge of privacy laws and regulations in the United Kingdom and Singapore as a minimum.
Experience gained within the Financial Services sector with a strong understanding of international regulatory frameworks and requirements, particularly in the area of privacy regulations.
Experience with drafting easy to understand guidance.
Experience with conducting Privacy Impact Assessments.
Experience with Privacy by Design.
Knowledge of key information security principles.
Good judgment enabling the provision of sound advice in difficult areas of law, regulation and practice and the proactive management of compliance and regulatory risk.
Exemplary integrity, independence and resilience.
Possession of a law degree or qualification preferred.
