The Inventory Management Coordinator is responsible for asset tracking and management, surplus auctions conducted via an online platform, and campus-wide annual inventory audits. This position assists with developing safety procedures for surplus property and other tasks, such as scrap metal identification, recycling and sustainability management of surplus property, and computer hard drive wiping. The Inventory Management Coordinator develops best inventory practices and manages reporting on various components of the inventory management and surplus processes.
Maintaining University asset information in SAP and ensuring that an adequate inventory trail exists for all items of University surplus property.
Entering work orders in University's Facilities and Planning Management website to have surplus equipment relocated on campus to the Surplus room or, alternatively, scrap metal removed from the Surplus room.
Tracking and updating the University's surplus property online auction platform as inventory is received and coordinating the pick-up of inventory from various buyers from the Surplus room.
Collaborating with the Director of Procurement & Contract Services and other team members to track the revenues received from surplus inventory sales.
Assisting University departments annually with audit compliance requirements and managing annual reporting of the University's campus inventory to UT System.
Following reporting procedures when property is being declared surplus from a campus lab or whenever any surplus equipment may contain hazardous material that might pose a safety concern.
