The basic purpose of the position is to source and fulfill White Castle’s requirements for a steady and reliable flow of high-quality raw merchandise, supplies, equipment, parts, construction materials, energy, packaging supplies and related services, and raw materials for the manufacturing divisions as assigned in the right quantity at the right place at the right time for the best overall cost, thereby contributing to profit.
This must be accomplished while maintaining the Company’s reputation and positive public image within the industry and business community.
Identify, select, and develop capable, cost effective, high quality sources of supplies.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of suppliers’ capabilities.
Negotiate with suppliers for the best possible price and terms.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of commodity markets.
Manage contracts and products through the White Castle system to ensure all policy and procedure requirements are met and appropriate records are maintained.
Review requisitions and communicate when necessary to ensure descriptions are clear and correct and quantities are appropriate.
Work with internal committees or teams for sourcing, rollout, and management of Limited Time Only (LTO) products and suppliers.
Handle Limited Time Offers, problems, emergencies, and special projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
An accredited Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years full-time professional supply management, procurement or purchasing experience (non-clerical) OR a minimum of five (5) years full-time professional supply management, procurement or purchasing experience (non-clerical) is required.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) accreditation is preferred.
QSR or foodservice purchasing experience is preferred.
