A Research Data Manager is needed in the Department of Medicine, Infectious Diseases to aid in a PCORI sponsored study to improve the linkage to care and retention among HIV-infected African Americans and Latinxs. Partnered with the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD) and emocha Mobile Health Inc, the study will compare existing linkage to care (LTC) services to a mHealth-enhanced linkage to care and retention protocol. This position will work directly with research partners and study team to ensure data collection needs are met, data collection is accurate, and data exports serve the needs of the Biostatistician.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and conduct quality assurance on data received from Maryland State and the BCHD and imported to the mHealth platform
Review project reporting requirements and mHealth platform data collection to ensure output meet deliverables
Track and assess quality and completeness of data entry and abstraction from the mHealth platform; immediately raise potential concerns with study team
Generate monthly reports of recruitment and retention progress, QC report of data collected in via mHealth apps, and other reports as needed
Work with the Engagement Coordinator to develop, coordinate and ensure storage and access of all research data including dissemination and collection of 500 client satisfaction surveys
Maintains good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and reporting requirements.
Adheres to all protocol requirements to ensure the validity of the research data.
Conduct analyses and provide descriptive and analytical reports, including tables, graphs, and figures
May assist the principal investigator, biostatistician and/or research manager in defining information and plans required to accomplish goals of study
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field. Additional education may substitute for some experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Three (3) years related experience.
Previous experience working with mobile applications preferred.
Experience working with electronic database such as Recap and SQL.
Experience with analytic software, e.g. Excel, STATA, R, etc.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to think critically and to ask questions when unsure.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent data management skills and have experience working with datasets of varying complexity and size.
Fluency in coding and analysis for data management and basic statistical analyses required.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
Excellent time management skills and able to effectively multi-task
