The Role Responsibilities & Our Ideal Candidate
Governance and other Traded Risk Activities
Perform governance coordination for Senior Risk Forums
Produce, review and circulate risk reports, MIs and BAU packs
Prepare monthly Chief Risk Officer reports which include assessment in risk profiles
Prepare bi-weekly updates for Global Head of Financial Markets and Global Head of Traded Risk Management on main traded risk themes, forward looking insights and high-risk items affecting the group
Prepare and coordinate the papers for governance bodies and management committees
Carry out assessment of the potential conflicts of interest within the function and drive the implementation of the register for submission to compliance
Support the function in roll out, update and maintenance of policies, standards and frameworks
Support the function in ensuring that the senior management is fully aware of regulatory focus and activity
Support senior managers by attending meetings with the regulator, taking accurate notes of the discussion topic and actions and facilitating the completion of actions
Manage the regulatory deliverable tracker for senior management, which entails distribution of actions to stakeholders, tracking completion and presenting the responses to regulator in a timely manner
Support Compliance with Group level traded risk and selected FM regulatory requirements ensuring that all requirements are recognised, assessed, controlled and documented:
EBA Technical Standards
MiFID II (Algorithmic Trading related regulations)
Perform deep-dive assessments of the rules within the Prudential Compliance Framework (PCF) and control monitoring measures
Identify areas of concern related to rule compliance and escalate to process owners for feedback and remediation
Coordinate self-assessment against regulations applicable to the function, aligning with the Bank's standards and including:
Linkage with associated policies, procedures, processes and controls
Leveraging Operational Risk Framework and use of CSTs and KCIs where appropriate
Provision of rationale / evidence to support management responses by responders
Coordinate sign-off process
Provision of independent review/ second line assurance including roles, responsibilities and assurance activities to be undertaken.
Coordinate the regulatory engagement and support the function in the provision of reporting around regulatory matters and requests:
Support co-chairs of Algorithmic Trading Governance Forum
Work closely with e-Commerce team to ensure that automated trading is in alignment with the standards set out in the Traded risk management framework
Facilitate roll out of algorithms and ensure that processes and controls around it are in line with current regulations (i.e. Supervisory Statement, MiFID II)
Collaborate with Front Office, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Operations to carry out algorithmic trading risk assessments (ATRAs), support in implementation of desk procedures, coordinate algorithmic inventory recertification
Coordinate Group Internal Audit engagement and support the delivery of management action plans during annual reviews
Support the strategic plan for Financial Markets and SCB Group with respect to UK PRA regulatory and market risk capital requirements
Support the strategic intent and collective agenda for Traded Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs
Support the Function's capabilities, skills and infrastructure to meet ongoing business needs and plans with respect to market risk capital and regulatory requirements
Continuously improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Traded Risk processes with respect to market risk capital and regulatory requirements

Uphold and reinforce the independence of the Function from those whose primary responsibility is to maximise short-term revenues and profits
