The Head of Analytics is responsible for setting the FMO analytics vision and culture and championing the use of data and visualization tools in making key business decisions. The Head of Analytics oversees driving the day-to-day analytical approaches and exploring solutions to problems and enabling the FMO teams with tools and knowledge.
The Head of Analytics ensures that FMO leverage data analytics as a strategic asset to constantly disrupt our operating model and drive innovation in our client journeys and processing performance as well as empower our operational teams to quickly adapt to our clients and our risks through data analytics. The Head of Analytics leads the business through all efforts that drive business performance and potential by using the existent and new data sources and techniques. The Head of Analytics additionally leads the data analytics team in the development of a FMO wide analytics culture, policy, and strategy. The Head of Analytics will be involved in delivering innovative concepts for complex analytical problems for the FMO teams and wider FM stakeholders.
The Head of Analytics is first and foremost a leader of all FMO analytics activities
Is responsible for setting the departmental vision and culture and championing the use of data in making key business decisions, as well as advancing the multi-year roadmap towards a data-centered organization and the evolution of analytics within FMO
Drives the day-to-day analytical approaches and exploring solutions to problems
Manages and prioritizes FMO's overall analytical needs and opportunities
Defines the strategic aims, to be evolved by the FMO teams and works with our technology partners to iterate and innovate the relevant tools and readying relevant data sources
In their leadership capacity, the Head of Analytics takes initiative in developing training programs meant for improving the departmental understanding of the use of data, which improves decision-making across the business
In this capacity, the Head of Analytics will also play a mentorship role to key data analytics and all FMO personnel, constantly honing their professional skills, data driven ways of working and culture
The Head of Analytics plays a leading strategic role where they lead the data analytics and data strategy regarding the collection, manipulation, and analysis of data for various business functions/departments to extract value from FM Operations data assets
Endeavours to create new data-driven approaches for generating business insights through data analytics, information visualization, and addressing unanswered business issues in a proactive manner
Strives to improve the quality of analytics solutions on a consistent basis
Evolve user personas and prototype visualization technologies and standards to enable the FMO functions
Foster and lead a culture of agile through the analytics teams and FMO and technology engagements
Leads the analytics team and FMO Analytics SMEs, EPICs leads etc in the creation of high quality analyses, use of tools to enable their insights for all functions
Validate, interpret, and create reports and presentations for senior management, departmental heads/management, and relevant stakeholders.
Support innovative solutions and foster the adoption of AI/Machine learning within the Analytics space by acting as a connection to the Technology teams, suggest new use cases
The role of the Head of Analytics is a highly collaborative role and, as such, the Head of Analytics facilitates joint brainstorming and team collaboration across the FMO teams, FM COO and CCIB analytics and user communities
The Head of Analytics further collaborates with numerous departments across the business, aiding them in the proper use of data, hence, ensuring the delivery of desired operational results.
Works constantly with the analytics team and technology partners in defining the data needs of the business for future work and for guaranteeing that there is high data-quality and reliability across the business
Enable analytics stakeholders to maximise the value of analytics for their specific functions by driving adoption through communication and training
Lead, manage and develop a function to drive FM and FMO initiatives and projects that involves building, analysing data sets which are robust and efficient for use across the bank
Coordinate FM client data insights working collaboratively across CCIB functions and product teams
Drive continuous progression, performance and ingenuity in providing insights for data driven decisions
Lead team to create/ maintain a suite of data models using 'best in class' l techniques
Define Data Analytics strategy, driven by business priorities and criticality including senior management engagement and leadership
Create a framework to support definition, application and reporting of Data Analytics metrics
Global process owner as defined under the Operating Risk Framework (ORF)
Optimise existing business processes leveraging the Industrialisation toolkit to create a consistent and systematic method of review
Working closely with FM technology to determine our target technology
Formalise and agree the target operating model, including the completion of Process mapping, Control Models, Department Operating Instructions, Capacity Modelling, Capability assessment for organisation design through the Formalisation Functional lead
Develop an approach working with the technology and business teams to adopt best practice in data and analytics
Ensure appropriate representative and drive at global industry forums on topics relevant to the utility
Optimize existing processes related to data gathering and distribution by leveraging Analytics solutions
People and Talent
Build and develop a high performing functional management team to support the operations
Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values
Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
Employ, engage and retain high quality people
Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives
Set minimum efficiency based targets each year driving down FTE utilisation and financial costs
Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks across all functional areas of accountability
Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them and ensure you take reasonable steps in managing them
Execute your risk and control responsibilities as both a Process and Failure Point Owner
Ensure that risks are identified, assessed and managed (including escalation and mitigation) in line with the Banks policies
Maintain a strong and appropriate control environment across the relevant business
Ensure identified control testing defects are resolved, including identification of root causes and any associated process changes required to minimise the probability of process failures
Ensure operational incidents (losses or near misses) are logged in accordance with relevant polices
Ensure root causes reports relating to operational incidents are completed in line with the Banks policies including meeting of all reporting time lines. This includes the implementation of any appropriate process and control changes to minimise the probability of a re-occurrence
Ensure Residual Risk is completed to the appropriate scope, quality and timelines
Define and evolve regulatory compliance reporting and key metrics for senior management and regulators
Lead Operational Risk control framework assessments/updates for analytics compliance related processes and associated control gap remediation, in partnership with control functions
Contribute to maintain a high standard on data quality and data privacy as per regulatory mandates and bank standards in close collaboration with the relevant functions
Work closely with Audit and Operational Risk on validating Process Design, and demonstrating effective measurement of business processes
Embed the Group's values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employee's form part of the culture
