In support of The Ohio State University’s Research and Innovation activities, the selected candidate will work within The Office of Research supporting the ULAR mission of providing humane animal care and facilitating biomedical research discoveries. In coordination with area directed team member and Team Leader; works as a team member to complete humane animal care and facility needs; maintains record systems and inventory of animals in eProtocol and RFID systems, helps support team area in feeding and watering animals as required by standard operating procedures for assigned area species; observes and reports abnormal conditions; performs rounds of animal facilities; within assigned team area supports and maintains sanitation of animal housing and research areas; performs sterilization, disinfection, pest control; generates and/or maintains record keeping systems for animal care, census tracking and tracking treatment service needs; As needed alerts directed individual or team leader of required area supply needs and issues. Works in cage wash to support team as needed or directed. Will require successful completion of a background check and employee health physical.
High school diploma or equivalent certificate; six months of work experience providing direct care for animals in a program setting or facility; may require current AALAS registration as Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician.
Target Salary: $14.50 - $15.15 Hourly
