The Global Regulatory REACH Compliance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining global compliance with all aspects of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) regulations. This position will assess existing, pending and new REACH-related regulations; determine their impact to the business; and help to develop processes and action plans, as appropriate to maintain global REACH compliance. This role will also maintain existing REACH registrations and provide direct support and guidance to the business for developing new registrations. Depending on the candidate, the business is flexible about the location being either at the Tower in Philadelphia, PA or EMEA.
Provide global REACH guidance and support to the business and all impacted FMC sites.
Assess existing, pending and new REACH-related regulations, and associated reporting requirements.
Determine and communicate their impact to the business and help to develop and maintain appropriate processes and action plans to ensure REACH compliance globally.
Maintain existing REACH Registrations for FMC chemicals, and guide the business in the development and submission of any new required registrations.
Coordinate and maintain Substance Volume Tracking and relevant ingredient limitations, phase outs and bans. Determine and communicate the impact to Ag Solutions products.
Consolidate, track and report annual or bi-annual volumes to satisfy the requirements of Only Representative (OR) Agreements established by procurement.
Manage Supplier Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) communications, costs, and agreements.
Provide REACH compliance statements to customers.
Develop exposure scenarios and Chemical Safety Reports (CSRs) as needed.
Represent FMC on the European Crop Protection Association’s Chemical Experts Group and/or the European Notification Panel.
Build and maintain strong internal working relationships with Global Regulatory and Registration Managers, Development, Global Supply Chain and Environmental, Health and Safety.
Work in a safe manner and support a safe working environment and security measures in word and in practice.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, typically from the science disciplines
Minimum 5 years experience with REACH-related regulations within the chemical industry, preferably agricultural chemicals
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Experience in managing complex problems that lead to win-win solutions
Familiarity with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling (GHS) and CLP regulations
Learning agility – experience in quickly learning new aspects and work and positively responding to changing demands to meet those needs
Experience with working well in a global cross-functional team environment
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills – oral, written and communication
