Position Summary The CAD Operator is responsible for producing diagrams, sketches, maps, plats, etc., using computer aided drafting techniques. Must be capable of maintaining files/records for projects completed and in production. Produce copies of diagrams for crews and offices.
Primary Position Responsibilities • Creates diagrams from various sources for various uses • Files, updates, and maintains subdivision plat data • Creates and revises Construction Specifications and Drawings • Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures, and guidelines. Responsible for reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor. • Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, procedures, and guidelines. Responsible for reporting suspected information security incidents to Client Services.
Education and Certifications Required • Associate degree in AutoCAD
Experience Required • 2 Years of AutoCAD
Skills and Abilities Required • Knowledge of basic Computer aided drafting techniques. • Knowledge of Geometry and measurement • Knowledge of utility equipment and terminology -- different services and symbols • Knowledge of ratios for scaling • Basic math for calculations of summary data for reports and profile clearance checks • Attention to detail and accuracy -- comparing digitized maps with staking sheets and work maps • Workstation systems and networking • Knowledge of ArcInfo, ArcView, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat and Trimble GPS products • Ability to operate numerous software packages such as Word, Excel, etc. • Knowledge of personal/business computers and components
Physical Requirements • Indoor, office environment. • Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc. • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. • Ability to sit for long periods of time. • Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
