BT Financial Group (BT) is the wealth management arm of the Westpac Banking Corporation. BT designs, manufactures and administers financial products that enable customers to achieve their financial goals through the accumulation, management and protection of personal wealth.
The superannuation industry is highly regulated with significant responsibilities and accountabilities. Government and regulatory expectations have increased significantly, and industry best practice standards have risen to meet these expectations.
These regulatory changes have seen BT's Superannuation business become responsible for a more complex set of risk and compliance requirements. To ensure that these requirements are continually met, a Business Risk and Regulatory Centre of Excellence was established within the Superannuation business. A key responsibility of this function is the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Superannuation business' first line risk management practices and frameworks, including activities to ensure operational requirements are appropriately embedded and regularly monitored.
The Business Risk & Regulatory Centre of Excellence is responsible for providing strategic advice and direction for the Superannuation business (including Program Delivery) and ensure relevant regulatory and compliance requirements are satisfied by maintaining the business' risk management framework, public policy, regulatory engagement and driving the completion of key remediation activities.
Public Policy & Technical Services sits within the Business Risk & Regulatory Centre of Excellence function within the Superannuation business and supports both the Superannuation and the Platforms & Investment businesses
The Senior Implementation Manager's key role is to monitor and assess regulatory change, ensuring that all changes are implemented accurately and efficiently across the Business, and provide a primary touch point for the Business when designing detailed specifications during the analysis and implementation phases.
This role works closely with the Head of Public Policy and Technical Services in ensuring a smooth transition from the preliminary high level phase to the detailed implementation phase. The role also supports the change management process, so the ability to communicate about legislative change to a broad range of stakeholders is critical.
