We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting, HSBC Life .
The role will be varied in terms of its activities and will require an adaptable and driven individual who is interested in and closely connected to business unit initiatives and market developments, as well as a strong financial controllership mind set. As well as direct management of financial reporting managers in Hong Kong, the role holder will manage, coach and review the work of the offshore team in India.
Leading robust, timely and compliant preparation of all required submissions for four Hong Kong based legal and the Macau Branch.
Leading the preparation of all quarterly governance papers including to the entity Board, Audit and Risk committees, and monthly Executive Committee papers, with all finance matters to be communicated in a clear and concise manner.
Robustly reviewing current reporting practice and procedures, identifying areas for continuous improvement, and then facilitating change including working closely with the business including Investment, COO, Products and Distribution and other teams where required.
Providing SME input to the IFRS 17 programme, particularly on financial reporting processes.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Manager position.
Significant experience and expertise in the management of financial and regulatory reporting processes.
Knowledge and understanding of major technical components of the insurance financial statements and their dynamics will be highly advantageous, ideally combined with a familiarity with a range of life insurance products and accounting frameworks, including embedded value measures.
Experience from partnering closely with senior management in finance, and the wider business.
Proven leadership ability and team working skills, ideally in an international environment.
Excellent communication skills and written English, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, and conflicting priorities.
Strong sense of risk management and controls.
A mind set of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence.
Strong academic background, with professional accounting qualification and significant post qualification experience.
