The Role Responsibilities
The job is to develop and implement strategies in country through the economic cycle, to enhance the overall performance of FM Corporate Sales Vietnam, in line with the global strategy.
Responsible and accountable for the country FM Corporate Sales revenue budget, forecasting and reconciliation of actual P&L.
Overall responsibility for the implementation and development of FM Corporate Sales best practice in country.
Ensure the group operating model is being adhered to at all times and that the desk functions within operational and reputational risk guidelines
People and Talent
Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners
Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people
Employ, engage and retain high quality people, ensuring that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks
Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans and succession planning for critical roles
Ensure active communication of vision, priorities and progress to the business to foster engagement, awareness and motivation
Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards
Encourage staff to 'speak up' in the event of any realised or perceived breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues
Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility
Ensure the FM Corporate Sales Vietnam team adheres to the Global standards of risk and control, systems and processes
Regulatory & Business conduct: Provide oversight in line with the Standard Chartered Conduct Principals across FM Corporate Sales in Vietnam to ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws, other applicable laws (e.g. laws governing securities activities, company law) and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines. This includes the responsibility for the conduct of individuals in the FM Corporate Sales in Vietnam ensuring behaviours set out in the Group Code of Conduct are followed and that the [business/country/function] achieves the outcomes set out in the Conduct Principals and Pillars.
Take personal responsibility for understanding the risk and compliance requirements of the role. Understand and comply with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions; the Group's policies and procedures; and the Group Code of Conduct. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters. Embed the Group's values and code of conduct to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture.
To ensure adherence to proper conduct and professional behaviour for all FM Corporate Sales Vietnam staff and enforcement of disciplinary action on deviation from such desired behaviour
FM Front Office Supervisor Responsibilities: This role has been identified as a Financial Markets 'Front Office Supervisor' and as such has associated with it a series of specific supervisory responsibilities in addition to any current employee/ management responsibilities within the Bank. Periodically the holder of this role will be required to attest that they understand their specific supervisor responsibilities and that they will execute these diligently. For the avoidance of doubt these Front Office Supervisory Responsibilities supplement and do not replace those outlined in this Job Description as well as any other applicable core employee/management responsibilities associated to employment with the Bank.
