Senior Accounting Clerk, Small Animal Clinical Sciences
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk to perform daily accounting activities for the Small Animal Clinical Sciences Department. While maintaining the integrity of the University's fiscal policies and procedures, this position's primary responsibilities are travel reimbursements, accounts payable and receivable, ledger reconciliation, effort certification, equipment, and gifts. This position also assists the Business Manager in managing a multi-million dollar expense budget.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Travel * Submits travel requests * Processes travel reimbursements (expense reports) * Monitors departmental travel spending * Processes direct bills of airfare and car rental * Processes conference registrations for payment * Reserves Fleet Management vehicles for departmental personnel upon request * Submits Career Development Fund applications and verifies approved funding
Accounts Payable/Receivable, Pay Funding Changes, Equipment * Processes procurement card transfer vouchers, invoices, petty cash reimbursement requests, client adjustments, client refunds * Manually reposts expenses * Processes entertainment expenses as per UT policy * Assigns appropriate account and G/L code to accounts payable and transfers * Prepares and processes bank deposits * Makes effort certification entries, obtaining approvals * Maintains Equipment Checkout forms, coordinates inventory surplus, inventories items not on official inventory * Processes pay/funding changes * Manages Shelter Medicine and CAIT invoices and payments received * Creates Purchase Requisitions for equipment and service contracts over $5,000
Procurement * Distributes and reconciles procurement card expenses * Serves as cardholder for conference registration fees for the department
Gifts, Ledger Reconciliation, Payroll, Other * Reviews gifts and verifies account assignment * Reconciles Center of Excellence and gift accounts * Updates departmental account list * Maintains office inventory of supplies * Creates internal orders * Assists Business Manager, faculty, and office staff as needed
